Last year in Australia, 47,216 divorces were granted. And that number doesn’t even count the de facto couples who went through a split.

There’s a lot of fear around the topic of separation, which is understandable, because it’s not just the emotional side of things. There’s the sheer confusion. What happens first? Do I have to leave the house? What about the kids? Do I need to lawyer up and go to war?
